Without liberation from homophobic fear, the universal Church can become neither truthful nor free of violence, Church Revolt for the Loving (Part 2)

In the justification for the Vatican ban on the blessing of homosexual lovers, a moral theology was deliberately "Feast of the Cathedra of Peter" reproduced for the thousandth time a moral-theological ideology that has been the basis of bloody persecution of lesbians and gays for centuries (see Church Revolt for Lovers (Part 1).

In Poland, Africa, parts of America and many other regions of the world, the Roman Catholic Church complex is still one of the main players in those movements that are strengthening the backs of hate-driven persecutors and spreading fear.

The explanatory part of the anti-blessing response of the supreme authority of the faith is almost unanimously judged as unacceptable by theologians outside the fundamentalist institutes. If one translates the controversial statements only a little bit into plain text, they also fulfill the fact of the "Incitement of the people".

Here is repeated the eternal drama that the Roman Church, in the wagon track of profoundly false axioms, not only always lags behind the secular discourse on human rights, but, in the absence of conversion to the message of the Gospel, undauntedly sabotages achievements of a humane struggle for freedom.

The dogmatic contradiction

A delusion is almost compulsively held, which puts the church in a blatant contradiction to its self-definition presented at the last council in the constitution Lumen gentium. The defamation of the homosexual love endowment as a "The defect of creation" cements a profound enmity between a person who is formally established according to his own good will "Schopfer" and all people whose sexuality falls outside the grid of the Aristotelian construction of natural law. This is the exact opposite of the church’s claim, "tool for the most intimate union with God" God.

Sabotaged in the same breath is the dogmatic vision of a church that proves to be a sign for the "unity of all humanity" proves. For when all minorities who experience their allegedly normative sexuality as a gift are branded sinners and excluded from the community of blessing, the church acts as a destructive tool against the "Unity of all mankind". The prediction made during the Ratzinger pontificate that in the third millennium the Roman Church would be a leader in the major questions of civilization "progressive" The idea of being a tool for the most intimate union with God, but at the same time remaining in fundamentalist regression and not giving a home to freedom, remains scary.

For those who, through their supreme theological authority, without discourse, send violent and violence-provoking ideologies on sexual morality over the entire globe, cannot possibly at the same time fulfill a world church peace service.

The concerns of the liberal church reformers (here especially: a new ethos of sexuality) and the civilizational ies of the universal church cannot be played off against each other. Only if the Church inwardly promotes non-violence and truthfulness, can she help to pave the way for a new culture of non-violence in the world.

If I now speak in the 1. part of this contribution from a kindly packaged "Theo-Stalinism" of the Vatican (which my confessor considers less fortunate), this is to be understood primarily systemically. I do not know the head of the Holy Office, who mistakenly believes that he can prevent the pastoral blessing of lovers. Perhaps Curia Cardinal LuIs F. Ladaria SJ, who looks at us so sympathetically in pictures, is personally the most lovable person in the whole world.

Either way, it is evident that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has suppressed the sometimes very bloody history of the effects of the doctrine it has now reied and the deeds of its own institutions of procedure. Therefore it seems necessary to recall here – on the basis of existing works – important stations of the homophobic church history, which is connected with so much suffering, acts of death and suicides.

The Bible clearly calls for the death penalty

The Holy Scriptures, as the "bible believers" Fundamentalists of all denominations right, clearly calls for the death penalty for certain homosexual practices. He that lieth with a man as with a woman, according to the law of holiness, shall be cut off from among the people with an axe, and put to death in a bloody manner (Leveticus 18:22; 20:13). Jesus does not say a word about homosexuality. He is concerned with raising the dead to life, not with making people dead.

Paul, on the other hand, who himself has a mysterious "Sting" In the same way, as the Christian laments in his own flesh, same-sex desire is the very symptom and divine punishment for the substitution of the victim and the victim’s head (Romans 1:25-27). His whole theology revolves around the realization that no human being can buy his own good by complying with norms and laws.

Unconditional acceptance by God alone, he translates Jesus’ message, calls us into life. The Letter to the Romans now contains the only possibly significant passage of the New Testament on homosexuality. On the basis of modern anthropology, the exegesis today can only say: Paul tries to illustrate with the phenomenon "Homosexual desire" to illustrate the center of his proclamation.

Since the apostle, in contrast to us, could only know something superficially about homosexuality, his attempt at illustration must be regarded as a complete failure. With the message of grace of purely given life, the said verses of Romer’s letter are sheerly incompatible from today’s point of view.

Church Father Constructs: "Worse than murderers and animal sleepers"

In the context of the ancient philosophy of natural law, the readings of the church fathers do not offer much more than a collection of curiosities. Clement of Alexandria rigorously rejects intercourse between men, because the male sex is by nature destined not to receive, but to obtain the sperm.

Lactantius considers homosexual practice an invention of the devil. St. John Chrysostom considers it the most heinous of crimes, for which no punishment can be severe enough. the unnatural man-sleepers are worse than murderers. Their desires and their life are satanic and devilish, respectively. diabolical.

For Augustine, nature, created by God, is degraded by homosexuality, and he considers it particularly shameful that men, in the course of unnatural sexual intercourse, sometimes take a "female role" take. Sodomites and their tolerators should be severely punished at every opportunity. With Augustinus we meet the symbiosis of contempt for women and homophobia, which is still constitutive in the clerical male federation.

In 11. In the sixteenth century, especially Peter Damianus, with fanatical persecution zeal, urges measures against homosexuality "Devil’s prey", which seems more dangerous to him than the "Animal slaughterers". However, the Aristotelian-inspired natural law doctrine of Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274) remains significant to this day.

This church teacher treats in his Summa the sexual "Sunden against nature" (masturbation, heterosexual oral and anal intercourse, same-sex acts). These are the worst of all, because they offend God himself in his capacity as the steward of nature.

The consequences of this pseudo-biological view, which is based on a completely outdated sexual science, are terrible. Heterosexual offenses like incest or rape, where the "natural purpose of procreation" are in the end less serious than consensual same-sex acts of love or onanism. (Among the word-untumens of scholasticism is the talk of a "rational use of the sexual organs").

The hopelessness of such a system thinking – now warmed up again in March 2021 – blocks until today the whole sexual ethics in the Roman Catholic Church, thus by no means concerns blob gays, lesbians or bisexuals.

Thomas Aquinas did not follow the prologue of the Gospel of John, according to which God does not reveal a multitude of catechism doctrines, but essentially only one word: the word of life, which enlightens every man. Aquinas, whose doctrine still prevents a new consideration of homosexual love, is supposed to be an infallible teacher of Christianity.

For example, the Jesuit Joseph Kleutgen (1811-1883), a pioneer of the neo-Scholastic Aristotelians in the Vatican and co-inventor of the omnipotent papal infallibility (Dogma 1871), who came from Dortmund, Germany, found that. In person, Kleutgen was a lugner, a confessor who was not competent to lead a celibate life, who abused the sacrament to satisfy his heterosexual urges, and at times even an excommunicate.

If one wanted to take Thomas Aquinas at his word with this conceivably bad example, then one should also be consistent. The angel-like church teacher of the 13. The nineteenth-century philosopher meant u.a., If the state has already executed the wrongdoers of the Moon, it is even more necessary to execute the wrongdoers of the "true doctrine of the faith" make dead.

What can be stated with certainty is that an ecclesiastical doctrinal complex, which throughout history has repeatedly provided the desired legitimation for the murderous craft of war, while at the same time invoking eternal punishment for the erotic love encounter of two men, cannot have anything to do, even at its root, with the only authoritative guide, Jesus of Nazareth.
